Think about the flow of events that leads to the meta world red text.
Spoiler:
The paragraph you provided shows that Battler doesn't know the the claim of the theory: Battler leaving and thus throwing the whole Ushiromiya household into chaos.
Battler gets called out, and Beatrice asks him the reasons of abandoning and recclaiming his name. Battler explains that he was upset with Rudolph, for being with Kyrie quickly after Asumu's death, and thinks that someone should've represented Asumu's anguish. But he also knows that his other family members means him well and thus he was able to forgive them as time passes, especially after Rudolph apoligized. Halso adds that the whole thing is to do with his family, and nothing with the Ushiromiya family name. To Battler, his sin is "abandoning his Ushiromiya name and causing trouble to his family".
Beato claims that his sin has nothing to do with that, and Battler aruges that he doesn't have any sin towards Beatrice. Beatrice dodges the topic by replying that she wasn't around until 6 years ago, and had never met Battler until "now". Battler presses for more, and Beatrice responds in red that the sin isn't something between them. Beatrice further adds the red text that "battler's sin causes people on the island to die", and adds that Battler is one of the cause of the tragedy.
Battler gets mad and demands to have Beatrice to cofirm the fact that "if battler didn't show up, people wouldn't have died", which Beatrice did not answer (and did not refuse to recite),and the scene quickly switches back to the real world.
In conclusion, Battler isn't even sure himself what the cause is. He thinks it has something to do with his family, which Beatrice shot down. He thinks it's something between him and Beatrice (meta), which Beatrice denies with red text. He doesn't think that he could've influenced the other Ushiromiya family members, and doesn't know how his return can cause other people do die.
Beatrice is interested in Battler figuring/remembering it himself, not someone telling him what it is. And again, she doesn't owe anyone any red text.
Again, I am not saying that this is the case; just probable.
