This episode follows exactly word-for-word of Chapter 4 of the novel. Just allow me to clarify a few points :-
Spoiler:
1. Lawrence needs to find out what exactly is Zeren up to, since he can't absolutely profit from his schemes based on what Horo said in Ep 3. He can't do it alone, so he ask Milone Guild to do it for him with the information at hand, in return he gets cut of the profit from the scheme.
2. As figured, Zeren is just an underling. Since the Milone Guild has confirmed Lawrence information to be truth, all they need to do is to move fast, reverse the schemes back at the Medio Guild and gets the upperhand. And of course, as stated in the contract, Lawrence gets a cut of the eventual profit.
3. The profit is enough for Lawrence to ends his travelling days even at a measely 5%. He can realise his dreams to setting up a shop in the city. But Horo is not happy because she has enough of being worshipped as a God and had nobody to talk to.
4.In her half-drunken state, Horo opened herself up to Lawrence, and Lawrence knows exactly how she feels, since he was always on the road alone. And he just throw his plans away, explaining that in Business, something's bound to crop up and ruin everything.
5. Horo remembers what she wanted to tell Lawrence since Milone can check up on Zeren, the reverse can happen with Medio checking up on Lawrence, and this turns out true with the thugs shows up.
6. Horo gives half the wheat to Lawrence, just in case the worse happens. Since Horo had already mentioned she can't dies as long as the Earth produce Grains. If she happens to get killed, she in her spirit form can "reincarnate" to the Grain held by Lawrence.
7.Lawrence escape to Milone. Unforutnately, Marhait explains that technically Lawrence is expendable since they had all information they need and a huge Profit is at hand, they can risk it all for him.
8. The Fur is not explain from the novel whether it's Horo's. But what Medio do know is that they knew what Horo is. Somebody from the Village had already inform them. This means that Medio had ties to the Villge who worshipped Horo.
9.Horo can take care of herself actually. She can always revert back to her Fenrir state and maul everyone to death at Medio's. And if those at Medio, out of a miracle, kills Horo, she can always "reincarnate" via the Grain in Lawrence's hands.
