itachi-san314 may have been alluding to Vergo having some kind of telekinetic ability. But even if Vergo didn't do anything himself to put down Law, that doesn't undermine his fearsome reputation/fighting ability (he was given possession of Law's heart by CC after all, as you said). All this shows is how formidable Law is in his own right (as he should be since he's a shichibukai).
