Wonder if the animation team at AIC kind of uses this episode to poke fun at themselves for having to do popular manga and LN adaptation like Imouto instead of making original anime. Maybe that Super robot hommage was some ones pet project that was shot down

. Still, it would be rather insulting to Tsukasa Fushimi if they mean it that way.
