Can you explain to me how the original series is any "better" than Rebuild? Aside from the fact it was the most influential anime of all time - because that doesn't necessarily translate to cinematographic merits. I've never understood why NGE is hyped to such degree by its fans; why it deserves a 10/10 in your MAL. I enjoyed both the TV series, EoE and the Rebuild movies thus far, so don't think I'm hating or anything. I know why you hate Rebuild - because it's different. But can you also explain to me why the TV series is a masterpiece? Because I really don't understand.

In fact, based on the spoilers I've seen so far, I wouldn't be surprised in Evangelion 4.0 is going to tie up all the loose ends from EoE, since Rebuild is indeed a sequel to the original series. If this is true, I reckon Rebuild is what this franchise NEEDS to actually be complete. Because trust me, after I finished EoE, I certainly didn't feel that the series was "complete".

Rebuild has been spilling hints it was a sequel since 1.0, and now with 3.0 it's almost fully confirmed. If you want to say that a lot of character development present in the original series were glossed over in 2.0, doesn't the whole thing being a sequel address that problem?
