More emotional springboard than crutch, and more troubled than gloomy. She always had a beautiful positive smile, got on well with her teammates and the stalking was more in filler eps, fanfiction and the Rock Lee series. But this is all interpretation. I'd say Sumire's lack of a troubled family background renders both her positive and negative qualities less intense than Hinata's.
