1. Found it kinda odd how after Keiichi defused the , the kids came flooding out of the windows (when their hands and legs were bound less than a minute ago).

I don't really see how Rena's repentence has to do with the storyline, after all that last episode was the climax of the series, seemed to me to be the climax of the arc considering the last few minutes of the season were committed to Rena. I wanna know Higurashi details! not more support info on chars!

4. The enforcements could have stormed the place the second Rena was disarmed of her lighter. But they didn't.

5. How did Rena not hear Keiichi when he was blabbing his mouth off to the police through the device they gave him?

6. If there was such a fear of the place going up in flames any second, how were there sparks coming from Keiichi's and Rena's battle?

I think my main beef with the last episode is the lack of realism (as some of my points locate) and the lack of answering most (at least some more) questions that people have been wanting to find out for the past 25 episodes grr! I thought there were 2 Rena's running around so when did the parasitic version of Rena pop up in the ep? never? how does the mechanics of the parasites hosting the body play into the ep and do they have any air time at all?

I realize that a second season is being planned but still I don't regard the wrap up given as kosher for great storylines (which is what Higurashi has).


Holistic questions that I wanted answered:

Is Oyashiro real?
What type of connection does Rika have with Oyashiro? I know that she is the most acquainted with this "thing," so is she therefore the Oyashiro like someone on the boards suggested.
The only way for the story not to be reset is if the kids solve the crimes and destroy the curse? If the crime is not solved it is reset?

Not really spoilers in the final episode thread...

3. It has a bit to do with the overall mystery, actually. Remember K1's sudden recollection of Onikakushi? Similar.

4. No, they couldn't. They had no way of knowing if Rena had another method of activating the explosives. They'd be raising the risk of the explosion and needlessly endangering themselves and the children further.

5. Law of Hollywood Earshot: characters can only hear and will always hear speech intended for their ears. Otherwise, they are Helen Keller impersonators.

6. They were outdoors, where the fumes quickly dissipated.


Other stuff:
Lack of realism? In a show about homicidal lolis, government conspiracies, a world that resets like an eroge after a bad end, and a Shinto deity that may or may not exist, you're worried about the fact that a kid who was busy on a telephone couldn't hear seeds of treachery being sown ten feet away?
Fortunately, there is only one Rena. Otherwise they may team up and take all the cute things in the world home with them, leaving us with nothing.
Watch the whole arc again for more on the parasites. It's there, but I guess you missed it. Also, read the TIPS.
Is Oyashiro-sama real? There's another season on the way which will explain this and the reset conditions, so I'm told.
