This episode for me was a curiosity to watch. It did not made me felt nostalgic for reminding that the series finished. Which is strange since the many anime that I had done with, left me craving for more episodes to be produced.
That means that I'm pleased at how things turned out quite nicely wrapped at the end, therefore, theres no need for me to ask for a second season.
Here are my thoughts.
Spoiler:
1. While it's true that most of us lament that Seiji did not replied to Ayases' feelings, somewhat Ayase had a hunch about Seiji's affection turning toward someone else. (Midori)
2. I think the final episode did made further progress for Ayase and Kouta, as side characters. It nicely explored their insight affection for someone who they thought they could win over through their confessed love (illusion). Sadly, things did not turn out their way, so the only affectionate thing for them to do for their one-sided love ones:
Ayase Looking forward to the happy days coming in and out without ever regretting confessing to Seiji.
Kouta Encourage Midori to let herself go from her cowardly attitude to look after Seiji realizing that she must open her heart toward change in order to confess him her love.
3. Each of the couples won something; no one lost. Even the cat (suffering from wacky mishappenings and a utter rejection throughout the series) won a love partner, as well as the Marin-chan otaku boy (although he unwillingly did not wanted to).
4. Personal thoughts: Ayase v.s. Midori
Certainly Ayase appealed to my interest. I rather prefer her more as her usual, mannered self than her sexy-predatory self in episode 7. She looks more gorgeous in her school uniform and not forgetting feminine, rather than in swimsuit.
However, it was Midori who won my heart. Midori as a SD right-hand was open and self-admitted to her feelings toward Seiji. She did not ran away from them, unlike her real self.
It wasn't til real Midori saw Seiji in the front gate, that her feelings sprang out and became full of painful confusion to realize her loneliness because of her timid nature. She needed a boost of self reassurance, unconsciously granted by her right-hand self, to understand that although everything that she experienced with Seiji turned out to be a dream, the feelings that she enjoyed with him in those dreamy events were real alive.
In summary, what real Midori needed to cure from her cowardly and shy self was the openness of her right-hand self to confess with no regrets, Seiji reassuring her that he knew along that she loved him, and Seiji himself acknowledge her he's too in love with her (never displayed but implied).
