K-On is
way more more well-known (through out the internet as a whole, at least) than Munto is. When using a short-hand term through out the internet as a whole, it helps to use a term that people instantly can recognize the meaning behind. Hence, using "K-Onified" instead of "Muntofied".
Munto may have originated the art style, but K-On
popularized it.
