^Mentioned this much earlier in the thread, but personally I strongly doubt that Koro-sensei ever truly intended to destroy the earth. To me it feels like it was a pretext or "cover" of sorts to hide his ulterior motive, which has to do with teaching those kids in order to honor his promise to that dying person from the first chapter's flashback. I remember bringing up the theory that he's training them to fight against any other type(s) of super-creature that's threatening the planet, but we haven't seen any indication that other beings like Koro himself exist so far.....

Oh trust me, I'm more than aware of how a manga can drag out time. Heck, I still recall the climax of the ant arc in Hunter x Hunter having entire chapters that literally took up the span of mere
microseconds. I kinda doubt AC will have those kind of chapters, though.
