He wasn't able to beat Kallen on the battlefield. He was beaten by Toudou, he gained a horrible defeat against Lelouch in Ep. 7. His record during R2 isn't even average. Nevertheless, he was the one to retreive Kallen. At least he didn't freeze her into carbonite

Zhou Xanglin called Kallen "捕虜, horyo" (I think so), which means prisoner of war. Article 13 of the Third Geneva Convention "Prisoners of war must at all times be humanely treated.". I don't remember the name of CG's "Geneva Convention alter ego", but I'm pretty sure it doesn't include any latitude for BDSM fetish...
Maybe I'm too upset about the two little teasing scenes with Kallen bound, which prohibits me from just enjoying the fanservice
