Yup nagi really needs hayate, but Hayate dont really need her other than for money
. If only hayate wasnt in debt, I can see hayate going off with the hamster girl. If only some miracle will happen and let hayate clear off his debt and continue studying hakaou, I can see hina x hayate. (My supported pairing).
Nagi really need to develop as a character to show that she is more than money personified.
