Its just the line about him being someone close Kid that brings up the Soul possibility. But agree at the same time he's much farther pack on that path than Ragnarok so honestly not sure who the guy was saving the souls for. Still leaning toward Soul for a gut feeling on it. At any rate will never know for sure since the guy got killed.
