You can say this is true as much as you like. Heck, you can say the entire story I just showed you is true. You could perhaps even tell the whole story in red, if you'd like. Reds apply to the fictional/fragmentary/board stories, as we've known from the start. So why couldn't somebody say something is true? It's true to say that, in this story, things happened as depicted. Isn't that self-evident?
