She is still the same old Kirino with good grades and strong athletic performance.
The picture with Kuroneko and Saori is setup for later when he pulled out his father's scrap book of Kirino. The father originally had same view on modeling and fashion and ends up being secretly proud of Kirino's modeling job after he did his own research. Kyosuke point out that the two event were the same, that the father should judge ACG just by its cover and that ACG is the same as Kirino's modeling job in which both put smiles to Kirino's face.

So the father had the same prejudice towards modeling before? Doesn't surprise me one bit
They shouldn't have cut these things from the anime version, it really makes things clearer.

That's another thing I already pointed out - and which was blatantly ignored by aerom, ono, who pigheadely insisted on how horrible R18 would be, without having the faintest clue about the rating system in Japan, and who even refused to read up on it when I pointed out the links to him
Some people really are learn-resistant.

Yes, he did it to protect his little sister, not to protect Kirino as a person. (The imouto game she had made him play also might have influenced this a bit.)

Let's see if the anime says anything about why their relationship was that bad before.
