I don't know, it may be cheaper to produce, but it's still money that has to be used, isn't it? In addition, Denyuuden seriously needs episodes. They are trying to fit 11 volumes in 26 episodes. In my opinion, in this anime, every single episode should be used in the most efficient possible way.
But, well, since they called 15.5 and not 16, this episode may actually just be an extra, rather than part of the 26. If that's the case, then I have no complaints.
