By which he means "there are only 10 .ddz files, one for each character".
The top and bottom coffins (slots 3 and 10) both act like "random" if you hover over them in character select. Forcing your character ID to be 3 results in no portrait and you play as Battler.
Forcing your character ID to be 10, however.. well..
..you get that image in the spoiler Alexia dropped.
