Well I'd say they weakened the effect of Angel's last loss, but it was fairly comical in that respect back then too. Not sure how she went from the stable, but cruel summoner from before to the self-damaging angel summoner. Definitely a downgrade on her side. Not to mention she went totally nuts here. "Cool a death scythe, now kill me with it  !"
Kind of a contrast to Cobra who has become even more broken. The guy was already overkill with the hearing magic and poison dragon slayer.
Seems like the focus will go back to Erza vs. Cobra next time. Well good luck to Erza.
