They're playing card games for the fate of the world now... I was really enjoying the casual tournament feel, now that it's gone in the same direction as Yugioh I'm not sure if I can enjoy it as much.

I would still give it a chance. It still hasn't gotten as a far as a cardfight is life or death. If they lose, they are just sent back to Earth.

For me, Vanguard is still a good show.
