Not a lot of action, but in terms of character backstory.

After missing for so long, Sydonay finally re-appears, leading his monstrous-looking subordinates in annihilating an Outlaw, killing all Flame Hazes and humans alike. This attack is taken straight off volume 8. That old geezer you see would be the leader of the Flame Hazes in that Outlaw.

Tanaka finally discovers his future lies with Oga-chan, and who can blame him for it after seeing her nearly getting killed in the Fuuzetsu? And so he and Satou part ways, with Satou seeking out work in one of the Outlaws, though it'll be at the risk of his own life.

Wilhelmina reveals she was nearly killed by this Sabrac guy, and wouldn't be standing now if Pheles and Johann hadn't saved her life.

Instead of the comic relief role in the past few weeks, Ike at last goes back to his role as a sagely observer, giving people the nudge they need, this time it's Tanaka receiving his help.

And to make up for being such a useless wimp, Yuji finally starts acting cool, and actually beating Shana in a duel for the first time. (Though Shana wouldn't admit it, and kicked him anyway with her usual tsundere response. xD )
Shana's back to her tsundere self? Oh, joy.

Other than that, I'm going to give benefit of the doubt that this is sort of a transition episode into another arc, and we are finally seeing everybody (except maybe Kazumi) "making a choice and fighting for it." It was evident that Yuji made his a while back, but now it seems that many of the parties involved are also choosing their paths. Best example of this is obviously Eita, who finally stands firm with what is important to him and makes the decision to escape the world he was never meant to be in.
