It was a fairly interesting first episode. Including the preview, this anime seems potentially interesting.

ED theme was rather nice, and from what I could hear from the preview, the OP doesn't seem bad either.

Characters... are uninteresting for now.
Keita... just does nothing. He wonders around and... well, does nothing.
Kuro... Denpa+moe characteristics the manga-ka clearly aimed for (who are you, Index)=(-_-) I guess it'll depend on what she does in the future, but she definitely failed to lure me in with some "cute" points of her.

That's about it for the main characters. We get a throw-away random criminal that appeared with no explanation except to cause a fight, and there is that childhood friend who looks a bit too old who doesn't seem to matter for now.
The only two characters I cared about, that girl (Mikoto-tan's voice actor?) and the loli perished in an instant, after all, so I lost a bit of motivation there.

Wonder what that Route thing is... those zombies... No, I mean Doppleliners... and that villain(?)
Just call them Dopplegangers... What are you trying by making up a word? Sound cool?

The art quality was pretty good for the most part, but there were some moments... For instance, what happened to the blood on Kuro? It just disappeared...

Animation was very good, but that smooth combo and finish made me laugh... Hahaha.

So what's the lesson this anime wants to teach? That you shouldn't go outside because a car could run you over?
I know the setting requires it, but the large amount of accidents in one city in such a small period of timeis rather... unbelievable. Or rather, too sudden...?
As expected of the "car plot device".

Speaking of that, I feel sorry for the owner of the car that got damaged by the random criminal that appeared out of nowhere for some reason.

Spoiler for ep1:

There is a good reason for the accidents. They had to make up a new word because they wanted there to be three people involved (for some reason or other). There was a reason for the criminal to show up. The main characters develop. And there is an amazing sequence of events they have saved for ep2, which will make the bond between the two main characters.

Don't expect everything to be explained in the first episode, is what I often find myself saying. The lesson? Well, you don't get the whole lesson in ep1, and it has nothing to do with cars, but it does have to do with other selves and a (to me) interesting mythology.

Fairly deep savage power loli + tsuntsun insecure and depressed but eventually strong male lead + interesting story setup is what I expect, based on the manga.

Based on the manga and ep1, I expect to enjoy this a lot more than I did Shakugan no Shana or the few eps of Index I watched. We'll see.

I've got to say that I didn't find Keita generic. He is not a generic shounen protagonist, but has some of the great shoujo emotion stuff that Yoshida Reiko can bring. He was too much of a pr*ck in the manga, at first, and this is better, for me, so far.

By the way, in case it hasn't been mentioned, check MangaFox for the scanlation, called Black God...if you dare. Hasn't ruined the anime for me so far.
