Technically speaking, we undercut the Indonesians and bought sand from them thanks to our currency leverage. Sure it is cheap and helped us rake in profits at our integrated resorts, but karma always go a full cycle - now the casino is causing a public morals issue in the tiny island state.
It would certainly be good if the "offshore Akiba" uses some sort of new reclaimation technology complete with ocean-lab construction that can be used as a new trade port and tourist destination, something like the Kaesong Industrial Region in Korea.
