From what i gather, she doesn't seem to open up to people that much until she really gets to know the person. This (is speculation of course) might be due
(BY THE WAY IF YOU HAVEN"T SEEN UP TO EPISODE 13, BE AWARE YOU MIGHT BE SPOILED BY MY SPECULATION ->!!!)to the fact that she's met people like taiga's father, who on the outside to a normal stranger might seem nice/loving...but once you get to know them, they're absolutely terrible and are complete liars that take advantage of others and exploit their weaknesses (as in the case with a certain someone (im not sure how much you've seen, so i don't want to ruin too much...pm me if u really want to know what im talkng about). Anyway, it's probably because of people like him that Minorin feels the need to keep her innermost feelings/thoughts private...and we see signs of her opening up more and more to Ryuu as they get closer.
