She does not have a "thing" for fat guys.
She has not loved anyone else in the way she loves Haru. She doesn't care about his appearance; she values his personality and character above that sort of thing.
Minimizing that basically turns their relationship into a purely shallow, superficial one. Which it definitely isn't.
