To be fair, Kitsune are usually the ones looking less like foxes in anime, so the Fox-girl isn't surprising.
The (I think) Korean version of the Kitsune on the other hand, is animal like, and also something you don't want to meat Unless you've got a liver to spare.
I mean there are people who mistook Tomoe for a white fox, so...
