The redub to "Sorcerer" is probably to differentiate Certain Magicians from
stage magicians, which is the first thing that comes into most people's minds when they hear the word "magician" anyway.
Wizard just won't cut it either, since anyone in real life who is a master of anything can be called "the Wizard of X" anyway.
