The wii is capable of Dolby Prologic ll Surround Sound, which is capable of producing the same quality as 5.1. So that argument within itself is null.
Because most Gust / Banpresto, if not all of their games are niche market games, they can't afford to spend a shit load of money on a PS3 project. The intelligent move (if they decide to go current gen) is in fact the wii.
I do agree that the XBox controllers are indeed god awful, but thank god japanese developers don't like producing for MS.
