Doesn't matter now anyways since the anime is considered as a ecchi spinoff. Reading the manga is the way to go for in deph plot and story. Also as I think it's probably meant that way so both sides would sell for people who are seeking plot and for others seeking the fanservice and besides Gonzo is known for fanservice even there other animes are starting to get ecchier. Mech's and boobs...lol.
If ever Gonzo doesn't pick up R+V, then I hope another studio would do so pick it up for another season.
