Fanfiction: Lost in the Moments
Chapter: Mosaic Carmellia
Series: Code Geass
Subtype: Code Geass: Lost Colors
Genre: fluff, romance, friendship
Character(s): Kallen~x~Rai (Karai)
Spoiler for Mosaic Carmellia:
______
The evening was a surreal red-orange color, the sun finally setting on Tokyo Settlement. The sound of vehicles and the masses shuffling home increased for a time, but now on the edge of the Settlement, it was peaceful and quiet.
The girl stared with affection at the peaceful visage of Rai. He was sleeping, his head placed upon her lap. The redhaired girl brushing her right hand tentatively through his hair.
Kallen knew this boy, and he knew her.
They didn't like eachother at first, Rai was withdrawn and sarcastic. He never applied himself to anything from what she saw. He was critical to everyone and showed no tact in answering a question.
She wanted to throw him off the top of Tokyo Tower once -- Kallen smiled at the memory. He was abrasive but he had a kind heart under that cold exterior.
Rai showed skill in something she lacked -- cooking prowess. She was envious, to be honest. She cooked and cooked to show him up, everytime he sampled her food he simply stated It's missing something.
Once she cooked at home (at the displeasure of her maids.) and brought Rai a boxed lunch, he simply laughed. When he ate the first few bite, he immediately placed the boxed lunch on his lap. The texture and taste is better this time around, good. Something that I can enjoy eating. Was his answer, she immediately felt some sort of accomplishment, even though she felt aggrevated at his words.
When it became Christmas, half of the male populace of Ashford presented her with chocolates and lavished Britannian gifts, While Rai gave her a tabatachi plushie. It wasn't opulent or anything of the sort. It was an inexpensive gift on Christmas.... A gift that held sentimental value instead of monetary value.
She eventually found out he was a Japanese-Britannian like herself. Kallen eventually shared with him she was like him, that might have been the final push for both of them to grow much closer.
She closed her eyes, nodding her head downward as well. Kallen being drawn into sleep as well, The last words spoken came from her.
"Welcome home... Rai" and then the room fell quiet, the crimson and orange-tinted sunset falling pass the beautiful azure sea.

A/N: This is coupled with Cerulean Sunsets for several reasons. Overall, I tried to renact it in a different setting. This is more akin to Ashford Route then Kuro no Kishidan Route.
I was going to have Cheese-kun instead of Tabatachi, but I wanted something could relate to Kallen canonically.
Overall, I hope I did well.
