yeah well, I guess LB is very similar to Clannad in many ways. First play through is a bad end then you have to go back and help out the other heroines then eventually you will be given some sort of miracle to save the main heroine and live happily ever after. The concept of LB is truly touching, it focuses on the importance of friendship vs. Clannad's focus on family.
As for the ending, I just skimmed the ending again to confirm something ...
so, in the real world, the bus crashes, Rin and Riki get saved, at that very moment, time freezes, the three people who saved Rin and Riki realized that they will not be mentally strong enough to carry on without them, so they created a fake world to make them stronger. At the end, when Rin and Riki runs out of the school gate, they wake up in the real world and escapes just as the bus exploded. Rin and Riki survives, and in the hospital, together, they created another world to make Rin stronger. and in this world, they saved their friends.
Wat.
If time reversing is not possible, then this means that they are still living in this fake world they created where everyone survive. I know that in Clannad they did something similar but in that series they actually hinted many times that there is an alternative universe and those magical orbs. In one timeline Nagisa dies, but due to Tomoya's sheer will, he travels to an alternative universe/back in time to collect the magic orbs, and eventually saving Nagisa from her fated death. But still pertaining some memory of the first universe. Going back in time is justified in the common routes in LB because that world is fake, therefore possible, but they actually also supposingly traveled back in time in the real world too, which is impossible in this series.
ok these are just some personal thoughts, maybe I messed up somewhere, what are your thoughts?
