I guess it only work because your fleet is already at high level. I haven't even be able to see the boss because of those 2 ships. Sparkling doesn't seem like it help much in my case where all of my ship are around at 20s with the exception of Yuudachi and Shimakaze. Wo will hit every time, and Ta brought at least 1 ship to red all the time.
Support fleet doesn't help against the top 2 ships which are the main obstacle, too.
