The kitiku games selling well is the main reason ero-games with a plot don't sell that well. The market that these companies have already established doesn't want plot, just sex. Since that's what has been delivered, any game released has that reputation. Since the people buying the kitiku games don't want plot, and other people think those games are the typical "hentai game" won't even look at them, these games don't sell well. If a different company, one that doesn't have a reputation for "hentai games", were to release and market the editted version, preferably for a console, the sales results would be quite different. The ren'ai fans going to forums and complaining aren't a large enough market to warrent releasing these games. They need to reach a broader audience, which they can't do unless no one connects them to "hentai games".

I've also played Kana: imoto, and I have to agree the game would be better without the sex scenes.
