The battloids are a lot different, and I'm having a hard time visualizing them turning into some of the fighter designs on that page. It does seem rather interesting though, so I'm eagerly awaiting something a bit more refined released.
But I think this rules out my hope that the new Macross would follow Hikaru and the rest of his ship. Oh well.
