YES!!! 20K!!! ANOTHER VICTORY FOR OUTER CADIAAAAAAAA!!!!
Nice going, Tormenk!
I'll reply to the longer posts later... In a bit of a hurry right now...
Aurion: Why me...? Gah, fine... but don't expect me to perform at all like you'd expect. -__- (Maybe if I just let them beat me easily...)
Me: Hate flaunting your true combat capability, huh?
Thanks.

Btw, preview for Blank of 6 Months I.
Spoiler:
His eyes glanced as his image in the darkness started to clear itself before my eyes, which was previously clouded with fear, now awakened to the sight of the legends.
Wearing a simple outfit of black, he turned to me as he knelled, asking me “Are you okay?” in strong, manly voice.
He was a man in his late 20s, oriental features chiseled on his face; he had the look of a veteran despite his reasonable youth. Possessing noticeable black hair, slightly messy with sharp eyes just as they are deep, penetrative into ones soul with a knitted brow and a tight-lipped mouth.
“What’s so interesting? It sounds like a regular description for any novel.”
Rein only nodded in accordance to Aurion’s interjector.
“Don’t you think the description sounds awfully like Ojii-chan?”
~~~
Though the 67th Ground Forces Branch Forces were credited to the quick and effective handling of the incident before it escalated into a large-scale incident that might’ve required the assistance of the Air Force or even the Navy, there were rumors that persisted the existence of a faction that was the true reason for the incident to not go into Class B-classification, and was resolved at 2nd Level C.
…”Ala Altra.”
SO YOU'RE REALLY GOING THRU WITH IT?!?!?!
Mind sharing some details with me? >.>
Good to know.
On the subject of Hayate in melee, I think she was mostly joking when she said she couldn't even beat Caro in hand-to-hand:
Look at her facial expresion, not to mention Teana and Rein, who are not taking her seriously in any way whatsoever.
Yeah... But I'm aiming a bit higher...
Wow. Pretty hard to go through with this while replying like this but I'll try.
Range Attack: She can probably do it at near 100% casting speed as original, since she does know some Mid-magic. Only factors in this are experience and practice so extensive practice in that area will be fine.
|
Well, maybe. But I'll keep her casting slower...
Quote:
Melee Attack: Even if she can't attack that well, she probably develop the natural feel to dodge after training with Tesla/Wolkies after some time. Keeping her at slightly above grunt level seems fine.
|
That's good!
Quote:
Magic defense: I'm for buffing her up for this. Given enough time, I'm sure she can tank blows up to AA easily. Not quite while defending physical blows of the same power with barriers or shields though.
|
Noted.
Novel? What novel?
Nanoha novel. it might show if Fate does indeed use some finesse into her melee...
BTW, CONGRATS ON GETTING THE 20K GET!
Spoiler for VUDs:
Viral-type Unity Device - Partial Notes
A vast corruption of the ideology of a Unison Device. Unlike most unison devices, viral devices do not possess their own wills, only possessing that of their creator. They have limited sentience and a form which normally looks like a glowing spark. Like normal unison devices, these devices can “unite” with users to provide Mana control in great volume and speed but without the mage even being aware of it. One other function of this device is that it accesses memories of the infected person and "records" them while the person is sleeping. A person might experience a dream consisting of those memories when they're being accessed
However, that is just the infection stage. At a certain time, the device will forcefully cause loss of consciousness to the infected and “take over” the user and operate autonomously based on the will of the creator. When the viral device is successful in "taking over" the infected, an effect, similar to that of a user loosing control of a Unison device will occur. However, instead of taking on the appearance of the device like normal Unity-type devices, the infected will be mutated via transformation magics into a more terrifying form based on certain conditions.
All those that are infected have chances to fight off the "taking over". This is done by combating the VUD within Internal Space. While this battle for control is going on, the VUD has control of the body and access to whatever abilities/ equipment the infected has. Usually, only those that have extraordinary wills or power can suppress the VUD taking over attempts.
Its a fairly crazy idea but is it viable or should I shut down my delusions of grandeur?
|
The idea seems similar to what Chaos had in mind in the past... If it was me, I don't see why not. The details needed some more are that of the organization behind it. And also, are they on the same level as unison-devices in performance?
In the real battlefield, Hayate shouldnt need to actually fight (especially in close combat, since she is not particularly good at it, and she knows it) if she properly commands her unit, unless absolutely necessary, or her Knights are not with her. What I'm trying to say is, arent you thinking too much about this? She is supposed to be a ranged support, not a melee aggressor, after all. It is what makes her Hayate and not Nanoha.
As I have said before, Hayate CHOSE to be support and to become a Lt. Colonel to lead troops into battle instead of fighting the battles herself. She had the potential to choose whatever path she wanted - to become an Enforcer like Fate, or to become an "Aggressor" like Nanoha - but she chose otherwise. You can give Hayate quite a lot of character development without making her go into the battlefield - and I actually may have a scenario coming with a little of that.
Just my thoughts.
|
I know. And I understand that. However, even though not specializing is no problem, at all; having no capability and practice just in case is not. More so since 'Aurion' is the one who'll be charging her head-on. And besides, I've already mapped-out a list of rationales for Hayate's further improvement, both personal and professional. It's not like I'm trying to make her adapt to everything, oh no. But I'm just injecting some practicality and a bit of my own flair for the sake of my story. Well, she DID decide for back-support because that's where she fits best. And I accept that. BUT being back-support while being helpless on her own, i.e. the battle's lost when her guardians are down, that I CANNOT accept! She is a back-attacker and always will be, but that doesn't mean she has to be limited to the basic idea for the rest of her life!(Note: GenerationS is 2 years after StrikerS) It may sound a bit too personal, but I believe that one shouldn't waste potential just like that. This isn't an RPG where the amount of stats are limited so you can only specialize in one or at most two factors while being essentially zero in others factors. And she'll more than hell need it for my story, since there WILL be more than one occations that she'll be forced to fend for herself without Rein. The very first example is the mock battle against Aurion. you think he'll go easy with her just because of their closeness or her lack of specialization? Oh no, he'll maul her down if she can't hold out. She's NOT practicing for forward offense. She's practicing for off-chance defense in closer engagements in order to gain distance and do what she does best, nuking.
Whew...
And besides, I'm using a bit of author-freedom as well...
Is it okay? Is it fine?
I am perfectly capable of giving both of them hell - Yuuno for his timidity, and Kha for his stupidity regarding other women, especially Sofy. Believe it or not, I once tried to strangle Kha-sama because he was being the galaxy's biggest idiot. The reason I don't give them NEARLY the crap I do other guys is because they've earned my trust - something YOU still have to do.
Grandis: Bringing up the past? Um... Hello? You're being a self-righteous, pig-headed jerk, even to the others right now! And no, the fact that I can be as such does not give you justification for being one right now. The "You're a jerk at times to so why not me now?" reasoning is oh-so typical of you it makes me want to barf. And no, I don't really think I need to earn your trust. Because as far as I can see right now, you're completely not worth wasting time to garner trust on. Oh, and to make things more fun, I think YOU are the galaxy's biggest idiot now!
Oh, and one last thing: is that all you got?
You can't blame people for jumping to conclusions when they don't have all the information.
Grandis: I'll take a chance later, Keroko. Mr. Lord of the Dunamists is still in his "I'm right, you're wrong. Baiting him while he's like this, on the other hand...
Keroko-chan: You're damn right I know! Why do you think Rogue Squadron has the highest casualty rate of any Squadron in the TSAB?! That's why I try to gather as much data as possible, even when its impossible to do so! Your irresponsible attitude is what costs us lives out there!
Quote:
Arcas: Look, I'm not USED to intel gathering. The RAF has its own intelligence gathering department, which gives the squads the data we need. And I'm not irresponsible; I'm just as much in support of info gathering as you are - but I'll repeat myself - there are times when you CAN'T DO ANYTHING to gather intel! Then, you go in with what you have. That's not being irresponsible; that's being practical.
|
Grandis: I repeat, how about now? The last few times I saw you burn those poor guys into dust, you had all the chance to look into it more. It's like your implying that Hayate and the other Aces would just fall prey to other males' advances so easily... Arcas, you're statement of not being able to gather intelligence all of the time is correct. BUT, you are clearly not doing so when you have all the chance in the world! You jump into conclusions, cause collateral damage and then invoke that kind of reasoning to cover your ass? Stop bullshitting us, will you?
Quote:
Reiji: Okay, seriously now. Is this We-Hate-Arcas Day or something? Seems like every time I have him make an intimation against Grandis, half the major OCs of the thread gangbang him for was a stupid, honest mistake. Seriously, it was my idea that he didn't like (and still doesn't, to a degree) Hayate's boyfriend. It seems awfully vindictive to jump a character whose only mistake (from where I sit) is that he didn't roll over regarding their romance.
It's much more interesting this way.
Truth.
Quote:
Keroko-chan: You damn well know how to gather simple intel like which fanboy is which. I drilled various ways of gathering intel from locals or finding information when dropped into unihabited territory, or even ways to get in and out of enemy stations into your skull the moment you set foot in the Squadron. Don't tell me you have forgotten those lessons already?
|
Grandis: And that proves my point even further...
(Oh man, this is great! Grandis, Keroko-chan AND Tesla would surely get along well! )
That said... it's fun to bait Arcas. *laughs* In all seriousness, roleplaying Franz talking to Arcas amuses me. Summation: it's not that I'm keen on the Grandis/Hayate relationship (Franz has reservations on the subject matter); what turns most people off is the self-righteousness displayed by Arcas.
Franz: "Hey, I'm also hurt by his accusations! I am a friend of the aces and a fan of them, and you're tarring me with a paranoid brush!"
Emili: "The universe hates you."
Emili: "Aw hell. How'd you know about her anyway?"
Franz: "Sergeant Major told me."
Emili: "How did HE know?
