It's also important to note that Kotoura's little "I forgive you" speech toward Moritani didn't happen in the classroom after the attack on Manabe but after Manabe found Kotoura.

In that time Moritani was so weighed down by the guilt of almost killing Manabe she had a nervous break down that pretty much killed her mentally. I think it was said she was going to kill herself but I don't know for sure because I can't find that part of the manga.
