I just got it and it was great! A real treat for me as a Tales-series fan. Anybody who likes the game will like this anime. Get it!

But I don't think it will appeal to those who have not played the game. I don't know how you can cut out so many plot points and actually change the plot altogether!

I guess you can compare shows like this to similar incidents when they make movies out of books.

Spoiler for the video game: In the game the original "hero" of the Valhalla War which happens 100 years in the past is Edward D. Morrison, great grandfather of Tornix Morrison who sends Mint and Cless back to the past. In the game they seek out magic users (first Klarth then Arche) to defeat Dhaos then they travel back to the present. After that they are forced to travel to the future!
