1st part.
2nd part...
Spoiler for Day of Sagittarius: Part 2:
I sighed again and returned my gaze to the screen in front of me. Let’s see, from what I’ve read from the manual... My fleet, the <Kyon Fleet> should be this one currently following the <Commander Haruhi Fleet>. Koizumi’s <Koizumi Fleet> fleet is on our side while Nagato-kun’s <Yuuki Fleet> fleet was in front.
“Awawawa~! W-where am I?!”
I tried hard to keep myself from letting out another sigh. Asahina-sempai, despite being a boy, is apparently more clueless in this than I am! I spared him a glance, praying that he at least stays behind so as not to get hit.
“Ah!”
Nagato-kun has found some enemy ships! And as seen on the screen the enemy vessels were shown in my map. I know I thought that unraveling stars sounded cute, but this isn’t cute at all!
“Alright!” Haruki exclaimed with Uninfectious enthusiasm, “We came, we see. And next-”
“Haruki!” I groaned indignantly at him, “This is what keeps us losing in the practice matches! Why not try acting like a commander and stay back?!”
"What the hell are you talking about?!"
Haruki's eyebrows twitched in irritation.
"How can I leave all the actions to my underlings? I’ve got my arsenal lock and loaded. And I’m itching to fire on those cocky bastards!"
“Mou!” I urged my fleet forward to catch up with his and said, "Haruki, just think this is chess. You’re the king. If we lose you, we're finished. The same goes for them. Do you think their leader is going up front as well? This is a game of strategy, not a royal rumble!”
"Ehe...” Haruki blinked a few times then smiled wryly, “you’re right..."
Just when I thought I had finally scored a victory against him, not to mention my own surprise at my little tactical scolding just then, he just had to rebound with as much intensity.
“Alright, then!” Haruki arrogantly rubbed his nose with an even more arrogant smirk up his face. He then stared at me like some pet and commanded, “I’ll leave it to you guys for now. They come, you fire. Losing is not an option.” He raised his voice even further, “Alright, move it people! The SOS Brigade’s reputation is at stake!”
Koizumi spoke up, "Commander. Intelligence Officer Nagato-kun's <Yuuki Fleet> has engaged the enemy.” She then turned with her usual smiling face to Haruki, “I’d appreciate it as well if you stayed back, Commander Suzumiya. We will do your bidding without fail.”
Oh. I am so sure YOU would...
Koizumi sounded serious, but how can she sound like that with such a cheerful expression?
"Oh... really?"
Haruki’s arrogant grin even widened further than I imagined possible, no thanks to Koizumi’s playing submissive... He reclined back on his chair and raised both his legs, laying them on the table like some big-shot tycoon.
"Since Advising Officer Koizumi-chan says so, I'll take her advice. Everyone, go out and kill them all! Show those Computer Study Group people the consequences of trying to be too clever. Our battle objective is total annihilation! Grind them all into stardust!"
I fumed a little at how Haruki listened more to Koizumi’s sweet-talk rather than on my well-grounded advice. Suddenly feeling like letting out some frustration, I glared back at my screen, ready to fire whatever these weapons are called. Though some doubt lingered on the back of my mind that this could be a trap.
Honestly, I feel like we have as much chances as the Americans in Pearl Harbor when they were bombarded by the Japanese during the onset of World War II. We were seriously unprepared, under-experienced, lacked one fleet (I spared a look at Asahina-sempai), had a hotblooded idiot of a commander and... and... Sigh.
If there is a God out there, please help us…
Haruki sneezed.
I couldn’t hold it this time and slumped headfirst into my arms on the table, resisting the urge to moan in helplessness. No, not him~!
“Kyon! I said attack! Not take a nap!”
This part came a lot more smoothly than the first. I took some pointers and became a bit more liberal in characterizing Kyon-ko, as well as using a more western feel to it.
@Keroko: Characterizing Kyon-ko gives me the same feel as characterizing Tesla. I'm quite at home with her.
This is more fun than I though! I'll finish the entire Day of Sagittarius before next week ends, hopefully. Expect daily updates.
Anyway, on the subject of the ponytail-pull. I guess it'll look better if that was down only once or twice and the rest comes with Haruki carrying her like a sack of rice on his shoulder. Though I'd prefer he carried her bridal-style, it doesn't fit...
