This is true... He is atleast somewhat better in terms of protecting himself then your average harem male lead will display.. But his inability to see even the slightest bit of "romance" in the other female character's intentions when they make lunch for him, and how they act in front of him (especially with Houki's sudden declaration).. It just makes me feel sad for him... Not trying to sound mean or anything.. But come on!
