I always loved Hiro's interactions with Koga. That line "Koga, live a long time, all right?" always sounded to me like an inward love declaration, way before the whole competition for Hikari.

That said, I love how Cross Game is shaping up the romantic relationships. They unfold slowly, without many flashy displays, but you can actually see the characters slowly building up their feelings.
