Spoiler for I'm thinking of calling it Unlimited Fate Works!:
I saw a dream that night. A land of swords; so long and barren, with no sign of life. The swords were rusty and chipping. The blades hadn’t been used in a long time.
She died here.
I don’t know who ‘she’ was, but I know for a fact as I stand: this is where she died. In this land of swords, still gripping the hilt of her favored weapon; she died here, with blood dripping out of her mouth, a satisfied smile on her face.
She had saved many people.
She was simple that way. Cold and reserved, but to her death she only tried her best to save everyone she could, even if the only people she saved were the people she saw around her. She fought all her life and never stopped running, never let go of her sword; trying right to the end to save everyone she could. She had a lover, and many friends; but in the end, she died alone.
There’s flaw in her logic, of course. She showed no emotion, and simply went with her heart; people can never trust someone who never shows emotion, who doesn’t act human. She tried to save everyone she could, even if she could only save the people she saw, but even that much is impossible. The only people that can be saved are the people you want to save; and even if she wanted to save everyone, it was an impossible wish.
And in the end, she died at the hands of someone she had saved.
But right to the end, she believed in the path she had chosen. She had fought and been wounded, and betrayal led to her death; but she never hesitated or faltered over her path. She simply kept running, believing that if she reached out far enough, she could grasp something forever out of her reach.
“Give me the power to save them. In return, I will serve you after my death.”
So she had gotten the power, and she died. I don’t know if she fulfilled her contract, or if she managed to escape through an unseen loophole.
But what stays with me is that in the end, as she died, she was still smiling.
I don’t know why.
I don’t know why, but…
For some reason, it makes me incredibly sad.

Fate Testarossa woke with a soft groan; she blinked and rubbed her eyes sleepily with the back of her hand, grimacing against the bright light. Slowly sitting up in bed, she stretched, yawned, and slowly crawled out of bed. The room was flooded with light; she must have forgotten to close the curtains.
“Wonder if that’s what woke me up….”
The blonde yawned again and crossed the room, sliding the curtains shut so the bedroom was dim again. She brushed golden strands of hair out of her eyes, frowning as she felt a faint headache throbbing at her temple. Absently, she brought her hand to her forehead; no fever, and it wasn’t like she’d stayed up late.
She searched her mind, trying to figure out what had caused the headache, but she couldn’t pin it down. Faint wisps of memory danced around her brain, faded images from her dream.
Suddenly, she froze.
“… The dream.”
The land of swords, the lifelessness. The tall woman, alone among weapons that were past their time, dying with blood on her mouth and a smile on her lips…
--“Give me the power to save them. In return, I will serve you after my death.”—
Fate blinked, then shook her head to fight off a sudden wave of grief. Sure, the dream had been out of the ordinary, but she had the feeling that if she thought about it any more she would only get a stronger headache. “It’s time to go to school, anyway,” she murmured.
But still, it bothers me… why was she smiling when she died?
A: Go to school. The dream wasn't all that important anyway.
B: Stay home. That dream is really troubling, what does it mean?

A - go to school Fate, you'll have plenty of time to mull over it during class anyway.
