Not to many actually dodge punches in this series. Saten, Arclight, Riru, Uten. They all characters who catch/block the fist with their power/strength to show their dominance. So I really don't think he could have stopped it, thats why im leaning to the shadow manipulation idea

how bout him being able to mirror himself? Reflection, so that he wasnt actualy there but his reflections do. ^^
