Spoiler for end of ch3, please bear with my terrible translation:
Quote:
Vol 3 Ch7, Kimberly talks with Marcus:
"You know, Marcus. In a village at the far east. It seems like some fool used live girls to produce machinedoll. Less than two years ago."
"....if live bodies are used completely, then they are only banned dolls."
"At first, yes"
A reality that pierces through the in and outs. Marcus stares at Kimberly with his red eyes.
Kimberly's shoulder retracted, dodging the hit.
"That is a product of early research for new technology, it is for the creation of a complete form of machine doll. Even if someone mass product banned dolls for this, it is still not right right?"
"... and that is?"
"The magician association is paying attention to you, ____ Akabane" (note: _____ = the name of Raishin's brother, not sure how to translate that)
For a while, Marcus fell into a silence.
After a while, he turns his head aside as if he has lost interest.
"Oh, not going to deny it?"
"Even if I am that person, or if I am not that person, that is a minor problem. I will still carry out my path -- to let that person kill me"
Marcus' attention turns to Raishin who is inside bushes, surrounded by four girls.
Marcus calls his two automatons away, telling them no more guarding is necessary. (note: I am unsure if they were actually guarding Raishin or Marcus himself)
Marcus turns around as he spoke, and the two girls followed in a hurry. Kimberley spoke to Marcus who is about to leave.
"This is an advice. Not as a professor, but as a senior in life."
"Please"
"One thing you must remember. The greatest taboo as a magician is the creation of human."
"...will etch into my heart."
Marcus left without turning his head.
A satirical smile appeared on Kimberly face as she look at Raishin's shadow.
"so... the fruit which Eve picked from the tree, who is the first to take a bite?"

The last sentence can have multiple meanings. It can be as harmless as Kimberly wondering who in the harem will win at the end, but it can also mean Raishin may be the first to "create human" (the other being Raishin's brother).
The "father", a head of the magician association, believes there is a chance in which Raishin may be a "prophecy child", and if I understand correction, the prophecy child will be the one whom create human - bringing the world to a new age. Of course, Raishin's brother is also a candidate as the prophecy child.

There are various factions and powers at work in the novel (from world wide diplomacy to secret organizations). There is this "everyone for themselves" vibe where there is no "absolute good guy". There are moments where one faction (such as Kimberly and even the head master) seem to favor Raishin but they may have their own hidden agenda.
To lighten up the mood a bit: say, if at the end Raishin does "create" human and fulfill the prophecy - then chances is that it will have something to do with Yaya. Although I don't want to see a Yaya route > Charlotte route
. Oh wait... this novel takes place back when polygamy is allowed in Japan right? As long the others don't mind...
