yukikaze? I just watched the first two episodes the other day, the planes and explosions are very beautiful but the story is sort of bleh. I have to admit I'm not a big fan of the brooding hero type and his gay boyfriend. The macross zero physics are a bit over the top - the transformations are way too fast for a craft that size but that's also why I like it because the fight scenes are mindblowing. An energetic hero helps too.
Imho both stories are a bit weird.
