Overall thoughs? An extremely campy mecha show. Guys, this is the "Gun X Sword" Goro Taniguchi.... not the PLANETES Goro Taniguchi. To me, this is a major disappointment, but perhaps it was to be expected. Not that it can't be good, because episode 1 had good animation and a somewhat promising plot.

It was a wrong thing to go to CLAMP, that I am certain of. Whatever artistic value this group has weilded since X, they have long spent it. I would have appreciated Code Geass much more, if the designs were different, even if only slightly. The way things are presented is just silly.

I might continue to watch it, though, as the show has some promise in the area of mecha fights. I am also intrigued by Lelouch's new power. It would be interesting to see what he can do with it.

ALI PROJECT is, basically, singing the same song they always sing the same way (i.e. superfast), but it's always pretty good. - The main character's fairly original majikal power. I LOL'd when he told them to kill themselves and they've said "Yes, Your Highness". - Mecha is somewhat oldschool. There were no amazing fights, but it was solid, good work. What's not so good? Spoiler: - CLAMP's charadesigns are very distracting. It just goes beyond their latest anti-antropomorphic fad (e.g. xxxHolic's "monkey people). It's just ugly. I know Lelouch is supposed to be a bishounen, but his head is just laughably unhuman. - It's very-very cheesy. Basically, everything that could have been guessed from the premise did come true. Somewhat predictable from end to start (except for minor details). - The Japanese' idea about historical european costumes is just simply and utterly ridiculous. I understand that they are going for some kind of European XIX century military attire, but dear God... why does it have to look so awful? For God's sake, even Gundam Wing managed to make pseudo-european clothing much better-looking! Overall thoughs? An extremely campy mecha show.
