Here we have the hand used to hold the neck and hold down the strings to the frets As you can see the fingers appears fairly smooth, and I can assure you they feel smooth
And here we have the hand used to pick/strum/pluck at the strings. With the torn skin and all, this is the exact opposite

Arigatou. That makes sense; I just didn't remember Mio using a pick before, but I did remember seeing Mio using her fingers to strum in the OP. ^.^
