you're right about takumi, he's not too great of a husband but Oxtail, you're right about nobu and hachi,

i remember it broke my heart when nana and ren were having problems around nana's solo release and he went over to hachi and held her hand and then let go saying "sorry, it's a habit"

i also hate that she didn't tell nobu anything the night they found out she was pregnant, if ONLY she had told him what was going on, he would have understood, but alas it was not meant to be

ideally, i would love for them to be together. and i always wonder what it is he tells to her when it's 6 years later and she prepares the bath for him before the firework show and he calls her name and looks at her intentively and then there's a focus on the ring on her hand

and the relationship with takumi is messed up, but hachi is aware of it

like when she talks to shin and tells him "oh, daddy's lover probabley left him because he comes home early from work and brings work with him too"

she's not stupid, but like most women who might find herself in that situation, she dedicates herself to making sure her home is the sanctuary that her husband can go to rest in. also when he pushes her aside, she knows her place most of the time and in her own way knows how takumi's emotions work, so although sometimes it may hurt that he is not the IDEAL husband she always wanted, he was responsible enough to take care of matters seriously like when it came to her pregnancy

takumi's buisness-like attitude to everything he does even in relationships is his own way of protecting himself and hachi knows that, as air-headed as she may seem, she knows that in the end, this is who he is and nothing is going to change that.
