If Shichika viewed life in such a way then why would he find underhanded and cruel methods unnatural? But actually, when we say Sociopath, what we really mean is that Shichika has little appreciation for human life. And what you've described essentially amounts to the same thing.

Togame says she can be very detached and make decisions like that but I think this episode proved that wasn't actually the case. She actually genuinley watched Shichika to win, even though it would be to her advantage for him to lose. She made lame excuses like 'I can't really trust him', contradicting her earlier point of being able to trust those that love her. She was actually a bit surprised when that Brid Ninja suggested he cut his own arm off and even told him not to. In fact, i thought the entire point of the episode was to set up Togame and practical and cruel and then promtly subvert it.
