These alternate realities are basically the heart of the show ... the fact that there are alternate realities basically is the plot. So to say much more would spoil all the fun.
However, if you want more info, you might want to begin reading the TIPs that have been translated in this forum; they're labelled by episode number and sometimes fill in information which isn't in the anime.
