But even if that's correct, these enemies definitely seem to have their powers rooted in Quincy techniques rather than being equal mixture.

Power absorption definitely seems a natural extension of Quincy techniques which derive on absorbing reiatsu. I may misrecall, but Ishida also beat a Privalon espada by absorbing her reiatsu way back when, did he not?
