Actually, it would help if we knew when the murder incident happened. (They didn't mention this yet, did they?) Because if it hadn't happened very recently there's a possibility that there was a third (fourth, etc.) person from whom evil!Shiro got the gun, so the poor guy never knew Shiro in the first place.
